Governor Kotek declared a State of Emergency in Oregon and our CBA includes provisions that double time can be impacted during a declared emergency. I wanted to update all of you that we signed an MOE on 1/19/2024 that our double time would not be impacted due to this declared emergency. You are all still able to work 7th day for double time. The MOE expires on February 2, 2024.

Also I'm wanting to get our contract bargaining team formed so we can start tackling different items and be prepared for our next contract. Deputy King (Executive VP) had asked in his Voice article to reach out to him if you're interested. We have three open spots on the team and have had a few members reach out. If you're interested please let him know this week so your name can be included on the list to be presented to the Board.

I know many of you were impacted last week with the freezing temperatures and awful driving conditions. If you have ideas on how we could improve safety or the ability to get/stay at work during these times please give your ideas to the contract bargaining team when they solicit ideas from the membership.
