Union Dues Vote

The E-Board has listened to those members who weighed in during the Due’s Survey that was put out in May. Over 100 comments were generated, and the majority of them said the same thing “split it up.” During the general membership meeting, we continued to listen to the staff that came to have their voices heard. We want you to know that we have listened to you, and appreciate the candid responses we received. It is with that knowledge that we take the next step.

On June 29th, 2023, at midnight, and running for 7 days, a vote is going to be held in regards to a proposed Dues Increase. The proposed dues increase will be spread out over 3 years. The first increase, amounting to $10 per pay period ($20 per month) would occur upon approval by vote. The second increase would occur on July 1st, 2024, and would be for the amount of $5 per pay period, ($10 per month.) The third and final increase would be July 1st, 2025 and would be for the amount of $5 per pay period, ($10 per month.) During this time, the E-board will continue to look for ways to reduce costs, and make cuts when appropriate.

Your E-Board appreciates and values the members opinions during this process. Financial matters are never easy to discuss, but the membership stepped up and was open to the conversations that needed to be had. We stand firmly committed to the financial stability of MCCDA and its continued longevity. For now, and for always, we will represent the membership.
