Retire-Rehire Program

Several staff made the board aware this morning that a job posting was created for the On-call Corrections Deputy position (Retire/Rehire). Deputy Buscher reached out to Chief Deputy Alexander asking about this, as the board has not been presented with any SOP for the program.

To put it bluntly, Command is taking the position of "list the spot now, figure out the details later."

This is their right, this is something the board couldn't stop. That being said, we want to make a few things clear.

If you hear about us agreeing to anything related to the process or anything, it is outright false.

As always, this board is dedicated to protecting the contractual rights of our members. We will not allow command to violate established practices, policies, or contractual rights just to make a pet project of theirs work. In other words, we will make sure that a CSU deputy isn't bumped to 5A so that a retiree can be working in the courthouse.
