Membership Meeting Notes

Quarterly Membership Meeting – December 2023

President –

· New Attorneys. Have been with Bennet/Hartman for 30+ years, but were being passed off as our attorney’s either aged out (Hank) or were appointed to new positions (Aruna). Changed to Public Safety Labor Group – they do all contracts in the area for LE, also cover additional things such as trainings, PR, contract negotiations.

· Spots getting Cut – talking to public via podcasts/statements about staffing/closed posts/funding that will result in negative consequences. Bringing corrections out of the shadows and brining our concerns/issues out to the public.

· Indictments – our attorneys sent us info for insurance for LE that covers members through trial/civil charges. Most other LE have the insurance as well. More info will be coming out in the next couple months about this.

· Union Reps – Specifically request union rep if called into office.; Don’t just ask if you need one.

Executive VP –

· 21 active IA’s, 4 on hold, West side 15, East side 6

· IA – now getting delivered via electronic packets. Allows for easier sharing of info for better representation.

o Some discipline is being inconsistent, contact Deputy King if this applies to you.

o Again, please ask for a union rep because it could impact others dealing with the same issues.

· 3 open grievances, 2 in arbitration, 1 informal

o Informal dealing with sanitary conditions related to RELAY not cleaning staff areas correctly.

Treasurer –

· Up $26,000 from same time last year.

· Largest expenses were catering and prizes, second largest was professional fees.

· Up $35,000 in investment accounts for the year.

· Plaques being distributed, please contact with correct spelling of name, dates, dpsst # if retiring.

East Vice –

Information Officer
