As you may have heard, the Governor has declared a state of emergency regarding the RSV (respiratory Syncytial Virus). The state of emergency runs through March 6 of 2023. When a state of emergency is declared our contract states: "In no case shall double time apply to a day declared a state of emergency by the Governor or the Mult. Co. Chair"; meaning double time will not be paid during a declared state of emergency. Recently, we saw the effects of this when the Chair and Governor issued a state of emergency and no double time (7th day) was paid out.
Well, I am pleased to inform all members I just signed an MOA that states the county is going to waive the language in our contract and pay us the 7th day (double time) as outlined in our contract.
Merry Christmas
