The MCCDA e-board is seeking to recruit new members for the Constitution Committee.
The Constitution Committee is one of two committees that are mandated by the MCCDA constitution to be permanent.
Members of the constitution team are responsible for
· Reviewing the MCCDA Constitution on a regular basis to ensure applicability and accuracy.
· Recommend MCCDA Constitution amendments in order to ensure relevance, applicability and accuracy.
· Review constitutional concerns brought forward to the committee, and determine if a constitutional amendment is needed/warranted to address the concern or issue.
· Prepare proposed amendments for membership review prior to membership vote to adopt.
· Work with MCCDA e-board to ensure that proposed amendments are voted upon.
· Ensure that the MCCDA constitution is maintained as a current living document.
Time commitment:
The time commitment for the Constitution Committee may vary. Generally, the Constitution Committee will meet quarterly to discuss concerns or issues that have been brought to the committee. Meetings can vary in length from a few hours to a full 8 hours each.
If you are interested in being a member of the collective bargaining team, send an email expressing your interest to Nicole Buscher (MCCDA president).
