During this AIT session a portion of the class being taught at the Training Unit is a refresher of radio usage for corrections staff that is out of the building performing their duties at the hospital or a number of other UNET posts.
When logging into BOEC, several staff members have encountered problems where either the dispatcher was not aware of the fact that the Z (zebra) of the 5Z call sign indicated hospital transport, or were told that their DPSST number was not registered. While in the past BOEC simply would list the 5Z call sign as an unregistered corrections deputy, Captain Hakala with the MCSO Training Unit is working with our BOEC liaison to have all UNET certified members DPSST number and name entered into BOECs system.
Captain Hakala asked that we let the membership know that they are working on implementing this solution, and ask for your patience as they work with BOEC to input everyone’s information. Due to the volume of UNET staff, this could take a good deal of time to input everyone.
During the inputting period, you should still log in, and BOEC still remains your most readily available means of communicating your emergent needs when out of the facility. BOEC can still send help and resources without knowing your name and DPSST number.
If there are any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact any member of the e-board.
